This installation was created for West Elm in NYC as part of their Spring Preview event. West Elm wanted me to make an installation using one of their products as the material and/or inspiration. They also wanted a piece that would be photographed by guests and shared on social media.
I decided to use floral duvet covers because I liked the idea of the pattern being transformed and traveling out into the space. I also liked the challenge of making a three dimensional piece out of something two dimensional.
The cutout, mounted flowers form a gradient from white at the top to full color. The clusters are hung in layers with a few individual flowers floating away.
