Jessica teaches a variety of craft workshops both at her studio and at venues around Portland. Bramble Workshop studio is centrally located in the Eliot neighborhood of Portland. Jessica has taught workshops at West Elm, Field Trip, and Work/shop.
Jessica also offers private workshops- perfect for corporate events, parties, or a crafting night with friends! She has hosted team building workshops for Airbnb, Clif Bar, Columbia, DIY Bar, Nike, and Wy’East Sisterhood. Come get creative and make something beautiful and unique!

Shibori Indigo Dyeing Workshop
Come learn the popular art of Shibori indigo dyeing! We will learn four different folding + binding techniques and dye four tea towels. I’ll provide step by step instructions for each technique and there will be time at the end for dyeing your own items, if desired.

Holiday Wreath Workshop
Learn the basics of wreath making and make a one-of-a-kind wreath! We will use fresh, locally grown cedar and spruce, accented with eucalyptus, assorted berries, dried flowers, and foliage. The wreaths are long-lasting and smell amazing! Finished size is about 20″ in diameter, perfect for hanging on your front door or in your home.

Paper Flower Workshop
We will meet in my art studio and dive into paper flower making basics. I’ll teach how to make a ruffly rose with hand-bleached crepe paper, in honor of the City of Roses. Techniques covered include stretching crepe paper and working with floral tape. Once you know these skills, you can make any type of paper flower. Guests will leave with a paper rose, templates for leaves and petals, a list of resources, and a packet of supplies to make another flower.
Spring Wreath Workshop
Learn how to make a one-of-a-kind wreath to brighten your home and usher in spring! We will each make a long-lasting grapevine wreath with dried flowers, ribbons, and aromatics such as lavender and rosemary!
Rope Basket Workshop
We will learn how to make hand-sewn rope baskets that are perfect for holding jewelry or small objects. I will provide dip dyed cotton piping in a variety of colors. Some hand sewing experience is useful, but is not required.
Paper Marbling Workshop
We will learn the meditative art of Suminagashi, a Japanese paper marbling technique using ink on paper. After creating the paper, we will add gold detailing and then cut it into cards and gift tags. Guests will leave with three sheets of marbled paper, gift tags, cards with envelopes, and additional ideas for how to use the paper!
Easy Block Printing on Fabric
Learn how to create simple stamps of your own design and create patterns on textiles. We will each print one tea towel in your choice of color using washable fabric paint. I’ll present examples of traditional and modern block printing as inspiration for your designs!
